Week 5 UpdateAn update on all things Virtual Academy, past and present.
Hello Virtual Academy members!
We hope you continue to be well and stay safe during this time! Lonestar would like to thank all of the front line workers, from nurses, doctors, and other health professionals, as well as the retail and customer service individuals who continue to help families during these times.
Please check your spam/promotions inbox if you are not receiving the weekly Monday/Wednesday sessions!
Hopefully your player is utilizing the sessions at home to their benefit! Many, if not most, of the activities are designed with the idea that your player can easily set the activity up at home, and then replicate the activity at their own speed and pace, regardless of age. Players are not expected to follow along with the coach at the same pace, but to take their development into their own hands, and go have fun with a ball! In that respect, we have set up the Virtual Academy to have a range of individual activities that can be viewed in any order you wish.
Moving forward, we will begin posting more and more activities and sessions by our coaches, so please continue to check in to the Virtual Academy on a weekly/daily basis. These will be released throughout the week, and you will continue to receive emails to the sessions on a Monday/Wednesday.
In addition to individual activities, we will continue to provide resources for your player to help advance their development. This week, we released the following (click the link to browse) on the Virtual Academy
- Strength/Coordination/Fitness videos by Ascension-Seton
- “Watching Soccer to Learn” by Kyle McDonald
- “Building an Idea of Culture” by Connor Talbot
- “How To Build Your Own Goal” by the Cassidy family
Coming up, we’ve got interviews with professional players and difference-makers in the world of soccer - keep an eye out for the first interview next week on the Virtual Academy blog.
Additionally, beginning next week, we will also be releasing a e-Juggling activity, where each player can compete with themselves and others by following along with juggling activities, recording their score, and seeing how much they have improved through an electronic leaderboard/tracker. We hope your player enjoys setting the standard for themselves, while having fun!
Thank you for continuing to support your player’s development through the Virtual Academy - we hope this will be a tool for the foreseeable future, and will only enhance the soccer experience for all players both within Lonestar Soccer Club and the Austin soccer community.
Stay Sharp, Stay Connected, and Stay Safe!
